Tomato Pea Soup
 
 
½ split peas
5 cups water
1 onion, sliced
2 celery tops
2 teaspoons salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 cup tomato puree
1 tablespoon flour
1 tablespoon butter

Soak peas in water overnight. Drain and add water, onion, celery tops, salt and pepper. Cook until peas are tender, about 50 minutes. Add tomato puree. Blend flour and butter together, add to pea and tomato mixture and cook 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
