Cake
| 1/2 c. raisins
1 c. brown sugar 3/4 c. shortening 1/4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. cloves 1/4 tsp. nutmeg 1/2 tsp. allspice |
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 egg 1 tsp. soda 1 c. sour milk 2 c. flour 2 tsp. baking powder |
| Beat together the shortening, sugar and egg until fluffy. Add spices, salt and raisins. Mix in 1 cup flour. Alternate soda with sour milk. Add remaining flour and baking powder. Pour into two greased 8-inch pans and bake for 25 minutes in a 375o oven. |
