Old-Fashioned Snap Beans
 
 

1½  pounds fresh snap beans  2 medium-sized potatoes, diced  ¼ pound bacon, diced  ¼ cup chopped onion ¾ cup water 1½ teaspoon salt 1/8 teaspoon pepper Brown bacon, add onion and brown slightly. Add to other ingredients. Bring to boil, then cook very slowly until beans are tender, adding more water if needed.
