'N' Sassy Spaghetti Sauce
| 2 T olive oil
1 medium onion, diced 2 large garlic cloves, minced 5 c chopped fresh tomatoes ½ c coarsely chopped fresh basil leaves 1 t salt ½ to 1 t hot pepper sauce In a 4-quart saucepan over medium heat, in hot oil, cook onion and garlic 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add chopped tomatoes, basil, salt and hot pepper sauce. Over high heat, heat to boiling. Reduce heat to low; simmer, uncovered, 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Makes about 3 c sauce or enough sauce to serve over a 1 (16-ounce) package spaghetti, cooked. Los Angeles Daily News
