Sugar Cookies
| 1 cup butter
2 cups sugar ½ teaspoon lemon extract 1 tablespoon orange or lemon peel, grated 3 eggs, slightly beaten 5 cups flour (approximately) ½ teaspoon soda 2 teaspoons baking powder ½ teaspoon nutmeg 1 cup sour cream Blend butter and sugar, add flavoring and
eggs. Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with sour cream.
Chill, roll out and cut, adding flour if needed for consistency to roll.
Bake on greased cookie sheets in a moderately hot oven (375° F,) 12
to 15 minutes.
