Quick Candied Yams
 
 
4 large yams 
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
½ cup dark corn syrup
Salt

Peel yams and slice crosswise in ¼ inch slices. Heat butter in skillet and lightly brown sliced yams. When all slices are browned, sprinkle with salt, pile slices into the skillet and, pour corn syrup over all. Cover tightly and cook over very low heat for 10 minutes or until tender.
