for the Bread Machine
| 2/3 cup milk
1 large egg 1 tablespoon butter or margarine cut up ¾ teaspoon salt 2 cups all-purpose flour ¼ cup coarsely chopped dried or candied pineapple ¼ cup chopped candied citron ½ teaspoon ground anise seed 1½ teaspoons bread machine yeast Place the ingredients in the bread machine
in the order listed, adding the pineapple and citron with the flour. Cook
using the Basic or White Bread cycle and light or medium color setting.
Makes a 1 pound loaf
When the loaf has finished cooking, and has cooled, glaze and add additional chopped candied citron. Glaze: Combine ½ cup sifted powdered
sugar, ¼ teaspoon vanilla and enough milk (2 to 3 teaspoons) to
make glaze of drizzling consistency.
