In addition to dealing with the appropriate times to plant flowers and vegetables for our region, the site has information on soil, water, climate, the fruit orchard and the vineyard. Content changes pretty regularly, and there are links to other interesting sites as well.

GardenGuides  A wealth of information about gardening! They have guide sheets on a large number of various types of plants as well as articles and other useful resources.

Gardenplace.com  A great place for planting tips, expert advice, a plant database, or to find a store near you.

GardenTips  A small site with some interesting tips.

GardenWeb  claims to be the largest gardening site on the Web, with garden forums, articles on gardening, directories of nurseries, gardens and gardening organizations, a botanical glossary, an events calendar, a plant database, contests, and much more!

Hort.net An awesome gallery of plants containing more than 2700 pictures, plant profiles and lots of news stories relating to gardening.

Landscape USA A great place to buy garden tools.

Mary's Gardens  "Mary's Gardens was founded in 1951 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to research the hundreds of flowers named in medieval times as symbols of the life, mysteries and privileges of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Jesus - as recorded by botanists, folklorists and lexicographers; and to assist in the planting of
"Mary Gardens" of "Flowers of Our Lady" today."

Moosey's Country Garden is a lovely non-commercial site in New Zealand. It focuses on a private garden, but covers a lot of territory, from native plants to the water garden. Very nice and worth a look.

National Gardening Association  is a non-profit, organization offering National Gardening Magazine, educational programs, gardening products, books, research, a gardeners buyers guide and more.

Perry's Perennial Pages   A great resource for on-line perennial and related horticultural information.

PlantCare Claims to be the worlds largest data base on house and greenhouse plants, information and care. A veritable encyclopedia of indoor plants.

Seed Swapping This web site is non-commercial.  There is no store online, nor is there any fee to use it. At the web site you will find a friendly community and message area rich in content.  Additionally, there is a searchable data base of seeds that users have posted to trade.

USDA National Plants Database   The PLANTS Database provides a single source of standardized information about plants, including plant names, symbols and other plant attribute information.

Worldwide USDA Zone Maps   A guide to the USDA hardiness zones, how they work, temperature conversions, the actual map for North America, various specific state maps, and a number of other countries. Very useful.

The Cook's Garden  A great resource for those who want to start a kitchen garden.

Johnny's Garden Seeds   Johnny's is particularly good if you are purchasing large quantities of seed.

Park Seed  A family owned and operated seed company. They have a good catalog, and are worth a look.

Seeds Unique  offers a wide variety of many different types of seeds. They have also created an instuctional section called "Seed School" to help customers with their seed growing questions. 

Shepherd's Seeds  A very reliable company with a good variety of heirloom seeds.

Thompson-Morgan  A British company with a long history and a thick catalog. This link takes you to the page that will allow you to navigate to any of the company's many sites based on your location.
