Orange Bread
 
 
1½ cups scalded milk 
1 tablespoon salt 
2 tablespoons sugar 
¼ cup butter
½ cup orange juice 
1 package yeast 
¼ cup lukewarm water 
1 teaspoon sugar 
6 cups flour

Scald milk, add salt, sugar and butter. Dissolve yeast into lukewarm water and add 1 teaspoon sugar. When milk has cooled to lukewarm, add yeast, orange juice and flour. Turn out on floured board and knead until smooth. Let rise in a warm place, free from drafts, until double in bulk. Knead thoroughly, form into loaves and place in greased pans. Let rise until double in bulk, then bake in moderate oven (350° F.) 1 hour.
