Onions
Au Gratin
| 6 cups medium sized onions, sliced
4 tablespoons olive (or vegetable) oil 1 cup medium white sauce ½ teaspoon salt 2 tablespoons chopped parsley 2 tablespoons cooked bacon, chopped ¾ cup sharp cheese, grated Heat half of oil in large skillet and cook half onions until soft. Remove to a mixing bowl and repeat with remaining oil and onions. Mix all ingredients except cheese and pour into greased baking dish. Sprinkle top with grated cheese buttered bread crumbs if desired. Bake at 350° F., for 20 minutes. (For buttered bread crumbs, melt 1T butter
and mix in ½ cup dried bread crumbs.)
