One-Egg
Cake
| 2 cups sifted cake flour
2 teaspoons baking powder ¼ teaspoon salt 4 tablespoons butter or margarine 1 cup sugar 1 unbeaten egg 1 teaspoon vanilla Cream shortening and sugar and add unbeaten
egg, beating well. Sift dry ingredients and add alternately with milk in
small amounts, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla and pour into
two greased 8-inch layer pans. Bake in moderate oven (375° F.) about
twenty-five minutes. Frost as desired.
