| 4 cups quick cooking oats
1 cup brown sugar ½ cup shortening ½ cup butter ½ cup white corn syrup ½ teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon vanilla 12 ounces chocolate chips ¾ cup peanut butter In a large bowl, combine oats, sugar, shortening
and syrup using a fork or pastry blender. Press into a 13x9 inch baking
pan. Bake 15 minutes at 350? F. Cool slightly. In a small saucepan, over
low heat, melt chocolate chips and peanut butter. Spread over baked mixture.
Cool slightly and cut into bars. Refrigerate to keep chocolate firm.
