Daisy Cake
| 2 eggs
1 cup sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 cup cake flour 1 teaspoon baking powder ¼ nteasopon salt ½ cup milk 2 tablespoons butter Combine first three ingredients and beat well, then add dry ingredients which have been sifted together. Scald milk and add butter. Combine the two mixtures and beat well. Pour into a square flat pan and bake in moderate oven (350° F.) 30 to 40 minutes. Remove from oven and add frosting, then return to hot oven just long enough for frosting to brown. FROSTING: Blend together ½ cup melted
butter, ¼ cup cream, ¾ cup brown sugar and 1 cup coconut.
Spread over cake, then return to hot oven (or broiler) for a few minutes
until frosting is a delicate brown.
