| 2 cups corn meal
1 tablespoon flour ½ teaspoon soda 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon salt 1 egg 3 tablespoons grated onion (can be omitted) 1 cup buttermilk Mix all dry ingredients, then add onion,
milk and beaten egg. Drop by spoonfuls into hot fat and fry to golden brown.
Drain and serve hot.
