Water Pastry
| ¾ cup shortening at room temperature
¼ cup boiling water 1 tablespoon milk 2 cups flour 1 teaspoon salt Place shortening (do not use butter, margarine
or salad oil), water and milk in a medium-sized bowl. Beat until mixture
is smooth and thick. Add sifted dry ingredients to shortening mixture and
stir quickly until dough rounds up in the center and does not cling to
the sides of the bowl. Makes enough pastry for a two-crust pie.
