Ham
and Cheese Puffs
| 6 to 9 slices bread, toasted
1 cup firmly packed ground cooked ham 3 tablespoons finely chopped green pepper 1 tablespoon prepared mustard ¼ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce 3 ounces cream cheese, softened ½ cup white sauce 1 egg yolk 1 teaspoon grated onion ¼ teaspoon baking powder Cut eighteen 2-inch rounds from the toast. Combine ham with green pepper, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce; mix well and stir in the white sauce. Beat the cream cheese with remaining ingredients until thoroughly blended. Spread toast rounds generously with ham mixture and top with cheese mixture. Place under broiler about 5 inches from source of heat and broil until cheese topping is golden brown. Serve immediately. |
