Hawaiian Turkey on Pastry Square
 
 
Pastry

2 cups sifted flour
½ teaspoon salt
2/3 cup butter or margarine
5-6 tablespoons ice water

Sift together flour and salt. Cut in margarine until mixture is like coarse meal.  Add water and mix until dough holds together.  Roll out and cut in 4-inch squares. (If desired, half of the, dough may be cut in shape of
turkeys and used on top.) Bake at 450° F., until golden brown.

Turkey Mixture

3 cups cooked turkey, diced
1 9-ounce can crushed pineapple, drained
¼ cup margarine
6 tablespoons flour
2 chicken bouillon cubes
2½ cups hot water

Melt margarine, add pineapple and cook 10 minutes over low heat, stirring occasionally. Add flour and blend well. Dissolve bouillion cubes in very hot water and add to pineapple mixture. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until mixture is thick and smooth. Add pepper and diced turkey and heat thoroughly. To serve, pour hot turkey mixture over pastry squares.
