Gingersnaps
| 1 c. sugar
1 egg 1 3/4 c. flour 1 tsp. cinnamon 3/4 c. shortening |
4 tsp. molasses
2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. ginger 1/4 tsp. cloves |
| Cream sugar and shortening. Beat in egg; add molasses. Sift flour and soda and add spices and mix in. Pinch off small pieces of dough and roll into small balls. Roll balls in sugar. Place balls on cookie sheet. Bake about 12 minutes at 350o. |
