Dried Fruit Bars
 
 
1 cup sifted flour
¼ teaspoon baking powder 
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup melted table fat
1 cup sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1 cup chopped nuts
1 cup dried fruit, chopped fine 
Confectioners' sugar

Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Mix the other ingredients in the order listed. Line a shallow pan (about 13x9) with waxed paper and spread batter in it. Bake in moderate oven (350° F.) 25 to 30 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool until firm enough to cut into bars. Turn out on rack and peel off the waxed paper. When firm enough to hold shape, roll the warm bars in confectioners' sugar.
