Chocolate
Chip Cranberry Cheese Bars
| 1 c (2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened
1 c packed brown sugar 2 c all purpose flour 1½ c quick or old-fashioned oats 2 t grated orange peel 2 c (12-oz. package) semi-sweet chocolate chips 1 c (4 ounces) sweetened dried cranberries 8 oz. cream cheese, softened 1¼ c (14-oz. can) sweetened condensed milk Beat butter and brown sugar in large mixing bowl until creamy. Gradually add flour, oats and orange peel until crumbly. Stir in chocolate chips and cranberries; reserve 2 cups mixture. Press remaining mixture onto bottom of greased 13x9 inch baking pan. Bake for 15 minutes in a 350° F. oven.
Beat cream cheese in small mixing bowl until smooth. Gradually beat in
sweetened condensed milk. Pour over hot crust; sprinkle with reserved flour
mixture. Bake for additional 25 to 30 minutes or until center is set. Cool
in pan on wire rack. Makes about 3 dozen bars
