| 6 hot dogs
1 cup all-purpose flour 2 tablespoons sugar 1 teaspoon salt ¾ cup cornmeal 1 egg 1cup milk 1/3 cup salad oil ½ cup minced onions (optional) Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder
and salt, then stir in cornmeal. Add egg combined with milk, salad oil
and minced onions. Stir just enough to dampen flour. Pour mixture into
greased baking dish. Cut 4 slashes ¼ inch deep in hot dogs; place,
with cut sides up, in a row on top of batter. Bake at 375° F., for
20 minutes. Then brush with 1 tablespoon each of prepared mustard and salad
oil, combined, and bake another 20 minutes or until done.
