| 1 pound pork steak
1 cup sliced onion 1 cup diced celery ¼ cup shortening 1 cup chicken broth ½ cup sliced mushrooms 1 tablespoon flour ¼ cup water 1 teaspoon salt 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce 2 cups bean sprouts (or 1 No. 2½ can) Cooked rice Soy sauce Cut the pork into small pieces. Brown pork, onions and celery in shortening. Add broth and simmer 30 minutes. Add mushrooms, flour mixed with cold water, and seasonings. Cook 10 minutes. Add bean sprouts. Cook slowly until very hot - about 15 minutes. Serve with hot cooked rice and soy sauce. |
