Chocolate
Drop Cookies
| 1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening 2 sq. semi-sweet baking chocolate, melted 2 eggs 1/2 c. nuts (optional) |
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 c. sour milk 1 tsp. vanilla |
| Frosting:
3/4 c. sugar 1 sq. semi-sweet baking chocolate 1 T light corn syrup |
1/2 c. milk 1/4 c. butter |
| Sift together dry ingredients. Mix together
sugar, shortening, chocolate and eggs till fluffy. Alternately add dry
ingredients and milk with vanilla. Stir till smooth. Drop by teaspoonful
onto a baking sheet. Bake 12 to 15 minutes in a 350o oven.
To make frosting, boil first 4 ingredients till it forms a soft ball when dropped in a cup of water. Add butter and beat until creamy. Frost cooled cookies. |
