Butter
Chews
| 3/4 c. soft butter
3 T sugar 1 1/2 flour 3 eggs, separated |
2 1/4 c. packed brown sugar
1 c. chopped nuts 3/4 c. flaked coconut powdered sugar |
| Cream butter and sugar. Blend in flour.
Pat on bottom of 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake for 15 minutes in a 350o
oven.
Beat egg whites until stiff, but not dry; set aside. Beat egg yolks until thick and lemon colored. Beat in brown sugar; stir in nuts and coconut. Fold in egg whites and spread over part that has already been cooked. Return to the oven. Bake 25 to 30 minutes longer. Cool; dust with powdered sugar. Cut into bars. |
