Best Custard Pie
 
1 - 9inch pie shell 
2½ cups milk 
½ cup sugar 
4 eggs beaten 
1 t vanilla 

In a medium-sized mixing bowl, mix the sugar, eggs, and vanilla together. Scald the milk. Make sure it is just barely warm, then add the sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Pour into pie shell and bake until custard is firm to touch, approximately 35 minutes. Different ovens require different times, and the custard is touchy, so you just have to make sure the oven is not too hot and test the custard with your fingers. It will not be wobbly - just barely firm and almost wobbly when done.
