| 1 cup sugar
¼ cup butter ¼ cup milk ¾ cup sifted flour 2 eggs 1/8 teaspoon salt 2 squares bitter chocolate ½ cup nut meats ½ teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon vanilla Confectioners' sugar Cream butter and sugar. Add beaten eggs
and milk. Melt chocolate in double boiler and add. Mix well. Next add flour
mixture, then nuts which have been dusted with a little of the flour. Add
flavoring. Pour into pan and spread evenly. Bake in moderate (350°
F.) oven about 45 minutes. While still warm, sift confectioners' sugar
over top and cut into bars - or cut into bars and roll in confectioners'
sugar.
