Banana
Nut Cake
| 2 c. sugar
½ c. shortening 2 eggs 3 c. flour pinch of salt 1½ tsp. soda ½ c. buttermilk 3 bananas, mashed ½ c. chopped nuts Mix first 5 ingredients in order given.
Add soda to buttermilk and mix alternately with mashed bananas into dry
mixture. Stir in nuts till just mixed. Bake in loaf or tube pan at 350º
for 1 hour.
