Barbecued Spareribs
 
 
4 pounds spareribs
1 or 2 onions
¾ c catsup
½ c water
2 T vinegar
2 T Worcestershire sauce
2½ to 3 t salt
½ t red pepper
1 t black pepper
1 t chili powder

Cut spareribs into serving pieces (or ask the butcher to cut them into 1½ inch strips) and place in roasting pan. Combine all ingredients and pour over ribs. Place in oven in a covered pan and roast for 350°, for 1-1½ hours. Remove cover and roast another 20-30 minutes or until meat is nicely browned.
