Barbecued Beef Patties
 
 

1 pound ground beef  ½ c. soft bread crumbs  ½ c. milk 1 teaspoon salt ¼ teaspoon pepper  2 tablespoons melted shortening  ¼ c. Worcestershire sauce  2 tablespoons vinegar  3 tablespoons sugar  1 c. catsup ¼ c. chopped onion Moisten crumbs with a little of the milk. Add ground beef, remaining milk, salt and pepper. Shape into patties. Brown on both sides in shortening. Combine Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, sugar, catsup and onion. Pour this mixture over patties, cover and cook 15 minutes.
