Apple Cake
| 1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening 1/2 c. milk 1/4 tsp. baking powder 4 medium apples, chopped or sliced thin |
1 1/2 c. flour
1 egg 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. baking soda |
| Topping:
2 T butter 1/2 c. brown sugar 1 tsp. cinnamon |
2 T flour 1/2 c. nuts, chopped |
| Sift dry indgredients. Add shortening
and mix well. Add milk, eggs, vanilla and apples. Pour into 8 1/2-inch
square pan.
Make the topping. Melt butter and mix together with brown sugar, cinnamon, flour and nuts. Sprinkle over top of cake and bake for 45 minutes at 350o. |
