Applesauce
Cake
| 1 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. applesauce 1/4 c. butter 2 c. flour 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. cinnamon |
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. salt 3/4 c. dates, chopped 1/2 c. candied cherries 3/4 c. raisins 1/2 c. nuts, chopped |
| Topping:
1/4 c. nuts, finely chopped |
2 T Sugar |
| Sift flour, sugar, soda, salt and spices
into mixing bowl. Mix in butter and add applesauce; beat until all is mixed.
Add fruits and nuts.
Pour batter into a greased and floured tube or loaf pan. Sprinkle the nut-sugar topping overe batter. Bake for 1 hour and 25 to 35 minutes in a 350o oven. |
