Applesauce Pie
 
 
1 cup unsweetened applesauce
Sugar
¼ teaspoon salt 
½ teaspoon cinnamon or nutmeg 
2 tablespoons margarine or butter 
2 eggs, well beaten
2 cups milk
Rind of one lemon finely chopped
Pastry

Sweeten applesauce to taste. Add salt, nutmeg and margarine or butter. Make custard mixture with eggs, milk and lemon rind. Mix with applesauce. Turn into pastry-lined pie plate and arrange lattice of pastry strips over top. Bake at 450° F., for 10 minutes then reduce heat to 350° F., and bake 40 to 50 minutes longer.
