| 3 T softened butter
1 cup sugar 1 beaten egg 1 cup sifted flour ½ t each cinnamon, nutmeg ½ t salt 1 t baking soda 3 cup apples, peeled and diced ¼ cup chopped nuts, (optional) 1 t vanilla whipped cream or ice cream Cream butter, sugar and egg. Stir in dry
ingredients (batter will be thick). Stir in apples, nuts and vanilla. Spread
in a greased 8-inch baking pan. Bake in a 350º F. degree oven for
35 to 40 minutes, until tests done. Serve warm or cold with whipped cream
or ice cream. Makes 9 servings.
