22 Minute Cake
 
 

2 c. flour  3½ T cocoa 2 c. sugar  ½ c. buttermilk 1 stick margarine  2 eggs 1 c. water  1 tsp. soda ½ c. shortening 1 tsp. vanilla Combine flour and sugar in a large bowl. Do not use mixer. In a saucepan, combine margarine, water, shortening and cocoa. Bring to a boil. Pour over flour mixture. Combine the remaining ingredients. Pour into a greased 12x8-inch pan. Bake 20 minutes in a 400º oven.  Icing   1 stick margarine  1 box powdered sugar 3½ T cocoa  1 c. pecans 1/3 c. milk  1 tsp. vanilla When cake has baked 18 minutes combine margarine, cocoa and milk in the same pan used for the chocolate mixture. Bring to a boil and add the remaining ingredients. Pour at once over the cake as soon as removed from oven.
